About & History
The Corvette Club of Manitoba Inc. began in 1971 and is currently in its 36th year. The 2007 membership year currently exceeds 100 members and co-members (spouse or significant other). There is a wide variety of Corvettes in the club with many from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and 2000's, including the new C6's, and even a C6 Z06.
As a non-profit organization, the club's charity is the Rainbow Society, and to raise money, the club participates in various fund raising events (car shows, raffle tickets). Some other events that are held throughout the year are slalom races, Gimli drag races, games night, show & shines (car shows), summer fun cruises, BBQ's, traveling club meetings in the summer, parts swap meets... the list goes on and on.
Many of our sponsors offer parts and service discounts, and if a mysterious problem occurs with your car, chances are someone in the club has experienced and corrected the same problem. Upon joining the club, a new member receives a Corvette Club of Manitoba jacket patch, window decal, and a membership card. A monthly newsletter detailing all upcoming events is emailed to each member, and club jackets and T-shirts are also available. Membership is $40 per year, or $55 for member and co-member. There is also an additional one time $5 fee for new applications.
Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month. Meetings are to be held at our club sponsor's dealership - Dan Murray Chev/Hummer located at 1700 Waverley Street at 7:30 PM during the winter months. For the summer months the meeting locations will change so we recommend viewing our events section to verify meeting locations and for additional updates on activities.
So if you wish to gain even more enjoyment from your Corvette, why not join the Corvette Club of Manitoba. The people are friendly and helpful, the events are fun and challenging, and you'll probably learn a thing or two about this classic automobile.
